🇵🇭 Philippines Resource Guide

ASD Resources in the Philippines

Every resource our family used — testing labs, therapy centers, biomedical practitioners, and nutritional support — with honest notes on how we found them and what they were for.

💙 Daddy

One of the hardest parts of navigating Kenzo's ASD journey was figuring out what was even available here in the Philippines. Most of the biomedical research points to US-based labs and clinics. But over time — through late-night research, our school community, and other parents — we found a network of practitioners and services that could help. This page is everything we found, in one place, so you don't have to start from zero.

💗 Mama

I want to be honest: the journey to find these resources took years. Some we discovered through word of mouth at therapy. Some through Facebook groups. Some through Kenzo's school. I hope this page saves other families months of searching.

📋 How to use this page

These are resources our family personally encountered or used. This is not a comprehensive directory and is not a medical referral. Always consult your child's doctor before starting any test, treatment, or therapy. Links are provided for information only.

Biomedical Testing

Labs and services for FRAA testing, the Organic Acids Test, and other biomedical evaluations available to Filipino families.

Gensens Diagnostics

Testing Lab

The primary testing partner we used for both the FRAA (Folate Receptor Alpha Autoantibody) test and the Organic Acids Test (OAT) in the Philippines. Gensens has a partnership with ReligenDX in the US for FRAA testing — the blood draw is done locally and the sample is shipped to the US for analysis. Results take approximately 2–3 months. The OAT is a urine-based test that can be collected at home.

Used by our family for: FRAA test + OAT

ReligenDX

US Lab Partner

The US-based laboratory that processes and analyzes the FRAA blood samples drawn locally by Gensens Diagnostics. ReligenDX is a clinical reference lab specializing in autoantibody testing including Folate Receptor Alpha Autoantibodies. You don't contact ReligenDX directly — the testing is coordinated through Gensens.

Biomedical & Functional Medicine

Practitioners who take a biomedical or functional medicine approach to ASD — looking at underlying metabolic, nutritional, and immune factors alongside behavioral therapy.

CreateHealth Philippines

Biomedical

The practice of Dr. Raymond Escalona, who introduced our family to FRAA testing and folinic acid treatment in a clinical context. CreateHealth takes a biomedical approach to ASD, looking at underlying immune and metabolic factors. Dr. Escalona gave a talk at Kenzo's school that changed the direction of our research journey entirely.

Used by our family for: FRAA testing pathway, leucovorin guidance

MedMom Institute

Biomedical

A Philippines-based resource for biomedical approaches to ASD and related developmental conditions. MedMom Institute supports families navigating the intersection of conventional medicine and biomedical interventions — including dietary protocols, supplementation, and lab-based evaluation.

Developmental Pediatrics

Centers for ASD diagnosis, developmental evaluation, and pediatric specialist care in the Philippines.

Center for Developmental Pediatrics — The Medical City

Developmental Pedia

A dedicated developmental pediatrics center at The Medical City, one of the Philippines' leading hospitals. The center provides comprehensive developmental evaluations, ASD diagnosis, and specialist referrals. A solid starting point for families who have just received or are seeking an ASD diagnosis and need a structured clinical pathway.

Therapy Centers

Speech, occupational, and behavioral therapy providers our family has direct experience with or encountered through our community.

THINKids Therapy Center

Therapy

A therapy center offering speech therapy, occupational therapy, and other developmental interventions for children with ASD and related conditions. THINKids takes an evidence-based approach and works with families on individualized therapy plans. They are based in Quezon City.

Growing Brain PH

Therapy & Development

A Philippine-based developmental resource focused on supporting children with ASD and other developmental differences. Growing Brain PH provides therapy, parent resources, and guidance for families navigating early intervention and ongoing developmental support.

Nutrition & Dietary Support

Resources for families implementing specialized dietary interventions like the GFCFSF diet alongside biomedical treatment.

Nutrigineering

Nutrition

A Philippine-based nutritional resource that supports families implementing specialized dietary protocols, including the GFCFSF (gluten-free, casein-free, soy-free) diet commonly used alongside biomedical ASD treatment. Nutrigineering provides guidance on nutritional planning, supplementation, and sourcing appropriate foods and products locally.

This list will grow as we continue Kenzo's journey and encounter more resources. If you've found a practitioner, lab, or center that helped your family and isn't listed here, we'd love to hear about it. The Philippines ASD community is small — sharing what works matters enormously.
